HI, I'M XUAN

I grew up in China, surrounded by a food culture that's incredibly regional, diverse and full of flavour.

When I moved to the UK, I realised that only a small part of Chinese food had really made its way here. Years later, a trip back to China reignited my love for the regional flavours I'd grown up with, and eventually inspired EatLa.

I wanted to share a different side of Chinese food, one that goes beyond the wok - Chinese BBQ!

From the smoky lamb skewers of Xinjiang to glossy Cantonese Char Siu and the fiery flavours of Sichuan, Chinese BBQ is incredibly diverse, yet still largely undiscovered in the UK.

And we think it's time more people discovered it.

Our name comes from 开饭啦 (kāi fàn la) - the joyful call of "Let's eat!" that brings everyone to the table.

And that's really what EatLa is about: good food, discovery, and giving you a delicious reason to try something new.
